Religionwissenchaft
is a German word means the study of other religions. To study other religions
for academic purposes, it has to be just and explain about particular religion
in neutral manner, which is not to support or disagree with the religion that
were studied, even not to compare with other religions especially our belief.
Most
of the western comparative religions’ scholars claim that Muslim comparative
religion is unjust. But all of the claims were wrong as Eric J. Sharpe[1]
himself admires and said that al-Shahrastani[2]’s
book about other religions is the greatest book ever.
[1] He
was the founding Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia.
He was a major scholar in the phenomenology of religion, the
history of modern Christian mission, and inter-religious dialogue.
[2] He
was an influential Persian historian
of religions and a historiographer. His book, Kitab al–Milal wa al-Nihal (lit. The
Book of Sects and Creeds) was one of the pioneers in developing a scientific
approach to the study of religions. Besides these, he was also
an Islamic scholar,
philosopher and theologian.
HINDUISM
Demographically,
Hinduism is the world's third largest religion,
after Christianity and Islam.[1] As
we all know Hinduism originated from India. The word Hindu itself derived from
Persian Sanskrit word Sindhu. The English term of Hindu were borrowed from
Arabic term al-Hind, and the word Hindustan which in Persian means “Land of the
Hindus” later on emerged and famously use by the 13th century.
The history of
Hindusim originated back when the Aryan, Indo-European people migrated to India
from somewhere in central Europe. The Aryan people then discovered that there
are already civilization existed there which is known as Harappa-Manjaro. The
Persian later on called this Aryan Hindu because they had cross the Indus
River. The invasion of Aryan in Indus Valley around 1500 BCE resulted in a
socio-religious caste system. The Aryans, who felt that they were noble and superior,
had pushed the Dravidian (black skin) down to the south. Because of this
nobility and superiority feeling, later on it developed into an important caste
system in Hinduism
